VTR™ 1000 and VTR™ 1003 Automatic devices are logging in-flight sensors data on their internal SD card. This data can be download on the PC and via USB and – together with the video from the on board camera – can be visualized with a nifty piece of PC software we created, called AGAT (Acro Graphic Analysis Tool). AGAT has some great and innovative features:

– Displays graphics of sensor (9 DOF IMU, barometric and GPS) data in separate windows for each sensor axis. The graphics can be scrolled, zoomed and scaled;

–  Windows layAGAT1out and data files can be saved together in projects and workspaces;

– The user can click on the graphic and see the current sensor value and timestamp;

– Plays on board video in sync with the graphics. The user can pause, play slow motion of 2x speed the video and cursor will simultaneously move on the graphics showing the current sensors values, in each point of the aerobatic maneuver;

– The user can place numbered markers of various colors for key points of the maneuver, with rich text comments;

– AGAT also displays markers recorded in-flight by the main program running on the VTR and markers at the times the voice commands were given to the pilot.



These features allow the instructor and the pilot to fully study the physics of the maneuver, to estimate the correctness of the maneuver by comparing with reference “perfect” executions, identify mistakes to improve future flights.

AGAT also allowed us to write the on board main program running on the VTR robot, based on scientific and heuristic analysis of the “perfect” executions we recorded.
